3. Bourbon (the liquor) and Bourbon (the royal family)

Jericho always thought bourbon whiskey was a fancy French thing like Courvoisier or cognac. But no, bourbon is a distinctly American liquor, defined and protected by federal law! So how did bourbon get its name, and what, if anything, does the name have to do with the House of Bourbon, the French royal family best known for monarchs like Louis XIV, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette? Jericho and Hadrian travel to Bourbon County, Kentucky, the supposed birthplace of bourbon whiskey, to get some answers.

2. Whiskeys

We get a private whiskey-tasting party care of Straight Up Bar and Beverage, covering scotch (blended, single malt, smoked, peated), Irish whiskey, bourbon, rye, and also discussing Canadian and Japanese whiskeys. Fun fact: after an hour of tasting six different whiskeys, whiskey tastes f#$%ing disgusting and makes you regret tasting six different whiskeys in an hour.
